Find an EPA-Approved Section 608 Test Provider

Use the official EPA certifying-program list, compare remote and in-person options, and verify a provider before paying.

Use the official list—not an ad claim

Only organizations currently approved by EPA may provide the certification test. EPA's list notes providers with remote testing, nationwide locations, Spanish availability, and employee-only limitations.

Ask these questions before paying

  • Is this exact organization listed by EPA as currently approved?
  • Is the exam remote, online-proctored, or in person?
  • Does the product include Type I only, one technical type, or all Universal sections?
  • Is the Core section proctored and eligible for Universal?
  • What identification and equipment are required?
  • What is included in the price, and what does a retake cost?
  • When are scores released and when is the card issued?
  • How can the credential later be verified or replaced?

Red flags

  • The seller promises an “EPA card” without an exam.
  • The provider is not on EPA's current approved list.
  • A non-proctored open-book package is marketed as Universal.
  • The page hides which certifying organization issues the credential.
  • The seller confuses Section 608 with Section 609 or a refrigerant-specific class.

Why we do not mirror the entire provider list

The approved list changes. Linking directly to EPA reduces the risk that a copied list becomes stale. This page helps you evaluate the current official list instead of pretending a static commercial directory is authoritative.
